16 v 2025. Will give an invited lecture, “On Cinematic Cultural Capital, Knowledge in Movement, and New Forms of Life” for the 30th
Zlatý Voči / Golden Eyes film festival, 16–18 May 2025, organized annually by the students of the Department of Film Studies at the Faculty of Arts, Charles
University. Sixty-minute lecture at Kampus Hybernská in Prague, Czechia. The theme of this year’s festival is “reflection”. This talk will discuss a work-in-
progress that considers twentieth-century cinema as a cultural memory machine for reflection and speculation for producing new utopian forms of knowledge in
movement. Combining these may promote an ecology of questioning, reflecting, and speculating on new, post-capitalist forms of beauty, cinematic cultural
capital, equality, freedom, and life for the twenty-first century. The aim is to awaken for the active cinematic spectator, with the production of knowledge in
motion, new perspectives and reflections at the intersection of past, present, and future, for new ways of being, dreaming, interpreting, and thinking. The project
draws on gestures, ideas, images, and scenes in films from a range of international directors.
